There are very expensive options where an individual can contact you via phone while your on the ship. Check with your cruise company and they can give you the contact information.

An easier way would be to make use of most Cruise lines Internet Cafes. Sending/Recieving e-mails a couple of times a day should be plenty to keep in touch at a somewhat resonable price.

There should be an emergency number he can call in your documents. Be aware the charges are quite steep, something like $7.95 per minute. Email would be a better choice, but be aware there are charges there, too. Three days is not an enormous time to be away, but I know you are nervous. Try to relax, life will be there when you return. If there is any kind of an emergency, there will be little you can do about it anyway.

The whole purpose of your trip is to get away from it all, right? I know how I felt the first time we left our kids, I was nervous, too. They had such a good time without us, they hardly missed us at all. Once I realized that, I had a much better time and didn't worry so much. Call home right before you are boarding the ship, then turn your phone off for the duration and have fun :) .
