sjde Posted November 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2017 I just read a 3 yr old review of the Brilliance in the Baltic and she said the internet almost never worked. Still?
Biker19 Posted November 26, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 26, 2017 The system itself on board is the same so it should be slow but usable.Without specifics, generic "it doesn't work" type reviews are meaningless.
sjde Posted November 26, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted November 26, 2017 Well to be more specific, I'll quote her- "just a word about the internet while on this cruise. It rarely worked. I mean nearly never worked. This is one cruise where I would not recommend buying a package. They even print daily in the Compass that connection will be bad and may not be possible most days. We rarely used our wireless devices while on the ship. So happy I bought an International data plan as we used free hot spots or the 3g service in ports." Biker19 Posted November 26, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 26, 2017 ^ OK, but in that case you just go to GS and ask for your money back. Also, while the overall performance may not be much better from 3 years ago, RCI has made some fleet wide improvements with the intro of VOOM, even on ships without the newer O3B technology. So while slow, reliability and availability should be better.
