kj_connections Posted November 28, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2017 What is the best way to debark the ship as early as possible in port of Miami? Do I need to request to be in a specific group/time to to self-assisted debarkation? What has been the earliest you have gotten off the ship and through customs? I'm sailing on the Sensation which arrives on a Thursday and my flight is out of FLL.
HawkIVette Posted November 28, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 28, 2017 Just take all of your luggage with you and do self-assist. Be ready around 7:00 to 7:30 and listen to the annoucements. Wait near the Casino or up on Lido deck and when they make an announcement that the ship has cleared and they are allowing passengers to leave, go down to the Lobby (grand atrium) and follow the crowd. I have never been on Sensation, but I have been off other ships @ POM and been to MIA as early as 7:45. FLL would be longer due to farther drive, but will be an easier airport to get through. lcpagejr Posted November 28, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 28, 2017 Just off the Vista... They began self -disembark at 6:45am. The order they do it in is self-disembark, then platinum, diamond, FTTF, then general cabin disembarkation. We waalked off ship at 7:45 and were thru customs in 15 minutes. We were platinum...but moved very fast and your luggage will be on a carousel like at the airport.
RWolver672 Posted November 28, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 28, 2017 If you have an early flight, you can go to Guest Services and show proof that you need to be off of the ship early and they will give you an early zone number to debark the ship. mrpayroll Posted November 28, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 28, 2017 If you have an early flight, you can go to Guest Services and show proof that you need to be off of the ship early and they will give you an early zone number to debark the ship. Doing this will still put you behind all the self assist people. If you need to get off early, best bet is to carry all your own luggage.
ICF Posted November 28, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 28, 2017 Be ready early and carry your luggage off. We were off the boat before they made the announcement so moved very fast. We were told 7:00, but went to the lobby about 6:40 and walked right off.
BNBR Posted November 28, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 28, 2017 We always do self-assist. We live near the port and have no reason to rush off early. But we find it very easy to roll a couple of suitcases and avoiding the crowds and waiting around in a theater, etc... If you need to get off the ship early, as mentioned, just do self-assist. Go down around 6:30 - 6:45 and walk right off the ship. Very easy and for us, the only way to do it!
riclop Posted November 29, 2017 #8 Share Posted November 29, 2017 Self assist.
