fian0604 Posted December 1, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2017 I got an upgrade offer today for $290 to upgrade to balcony on Elation. Room is on the main deck aft. We currently are in an ocean view on the upper deck midship. Should we take th upgrade?
dmdiver Posted December 1, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 1, 2017 Is the aft cabin below a dining room? Might not be worth $290 extra. Check the deck plans first and maybe even a mock booking to see if you are saving anything by doing that.
Mabks0412 Posted December 1, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 1, 2017 If you aren't below a dining room or the comedy club, I say do it! We had an aft balcony on the Fascination and loved it. Have fun on your cruise!

We would be below other cabins and to book outright would cost us $500 so it would be a savings of $210. I have never been on that low of a deck before, that is one of my concerns. blondie151o Posted December 1, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 1, 2017 Got the same offer today for 298$ to upgrade both my bookings to balcony. Didn't take it. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
blondie151o Posted December 1, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 1, 2017 Am I reading it wrong- it's 298$ MORE to upgrade correct? If so that seems to look like I would be paying more total than what a new booking is offering for a balcony? Seems pricy to me. .. but never had an offer to upgrade before. If I go online mock booking I can get a balcony for 538$. If I add the 298$ offer upgrade I will be paying over 100$ more to upgrade than the mock booking. Sent from my iPhone using Forums We paid around $900 for our original ocean view room including gratuities so if we booked at the $538pp for the balcony as a new booking we would end up paying around $500 more. So for us it would be a savings of about $200 to just pay the $290 upgrade cost. The $290 is in addition to your original total, not the new booking total.
