Kelly28 Posted December 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 3, 2017 Hi, anyone out there who has stop on a cruise and done a day trip from Malaga to Morocco on the ferry? Thanks Kelly Sent from my iPad using Forums
jenZ Posted December 3, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 3, 2017 I am interested too. From the quick search I have done, it appears the ferry schedules don’t jive with my cruise ship schedule. So wondering if there is another way? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
John Bull Posted December 4, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 4, 2017 Is there a ferry from Malaga to Tangier????? The nearest I'm aware of are the traditional ferries from Algeciras (near Gibraltar) to Tangier-Med (an industrial port about an hour's bus ride from Tangier) or the fast-ferry from Tarifa (beyond Gibraltar) to Tangier town. Because of the travel to port, neither will fit a port-of-call visit to Malaga. Via Tarifa is possible from a long port-of-call day at Gib (early start & mid-late evening sailing) but it's a bit complicated - book a Tangier excursion from one of the Costa del Sol resorts but arrange to meet the coach group at Tarifa port. Take a short bus or taxi ride from ship to Gib/Spain border, cross on foot, Spanish taxi 26 miles to Tarifa to meet the group at the fast-ferry. Same routine from Tarifa back to the ship. jenZ Posted December 4, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 4, 2017 Yes, thank-you, John Bull. Hoping for another option, but confirms my research. Just too far to travel and catch those ferries from Gibraltar. Maybe next cruise! Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Sent from my iPhone using Forums A good excuse to return :) A pretty easy & tolerably inexpensive way to visit Tangier from Spain - coach excursions start from close to Malaga (but at daft o'clock in the morning) & pick up at various resorts along the coast. Then on the fast-ferry on foot, a walking tour of Tangier concentrating on the big soukh (this is where the guide & his helpers are a great boon, guiding you thro the alleyways & fending off the persistent street-vendors. Lunch included. Then coach tour of the surrounding area, then back to the ferry & arriving at your Spanish resort mid to late evening.. The excursion ticket costs little more than a ferry ticket.
