Rare molemaui Posted December 4, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2017 We haven't been to St. Thomas in a number of years and want to know if it is still easy to cab or shuttle on your own from the cruise port to Megans Bay Beach. Possibly more important, is it still easy to get a cab back to the ship? thanks

Sent from my iPhone using Forums Most cruisers ride in a shared safari open air van and the fare is around 12.00 p/p ea way and takes about 25 minutes. mrszuhwiggins Posted December 12, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 12, 2017 (edited) We haven't been to St. Thomas in a number of years and want to know if it is still easy to cab or shuttle on your own from the cruise port to Megans Bay Beach. Possibly more important, is it still easy to get a cab back to the ship? thanks Just returned last night. It is very easy to get a cab TO Megan's Bay, but make sure you arrange a time for a cab to come back. There were about 10 of us that did not do that and we were waiting for a good long time for cabs to return. The cab dispatcher did call for a cab to come and one came but could not fit everyone waiting so the cab dispatcher had to drive the last few people back herself or they might have missed the ship. So just arrange with your cab driver a pick up time and you should be fine. Beach was gorgeous, and everything else is up and running. Forgot to add prices - cost us $8 pp each way from Havensight. Took about 15 - 20 min each way. Have fun! Edited December 12, 2017 by mrszuhwiggins More info
SanDiegoCoco Posted December 12, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 12, 2017 The last time I was in St. Thomas was in 2011, so things may have changed. We did something in town in the morning, had lunch, and then wanted to go to Magen's Bay for a couple hours in the afternoon. It was very difficult to find a cab at that time of day. We finally found one, and paid to have him wait to take us back to the ship. I guess everyone goes in the morning and the cabs wait there for return fares, so it is not as easy to find one later to go to the bay.
