cvskult Posted December 13, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2017 Oasis of the seas about how long to disembark and get through customs around 9 am. Want to make sure we get to shuttle on time but not in a rush to get off the boat
Capt_BJ Posted December 13, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 13, 2017 We headed off at about 7:30 during 'self debark' and it took us close to an hour to get to the ICE booth ... this was just a couple of weeks ago - sailed Thanksgiving week. If familiar with T-1 and OASIS, the line was backed up to the gangway area ... up to the suspended walkway and beyond. Because they don't want the line ON the gangway they had started snaking it at the topmost landing .... things moved slowly but steadily. In retrospect I think we gained NOTHING by dragging our own bags.
stefanny28 Posted December 15, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 15, 2017 We have a cruise booked next year X-Mas. Looking at flight now, do we have enough time to get from Port Canaveral to MCO for a 11:40AM flight from MCO to Montreal if we "self-debark" and book the transfer early? Thanks

Would I try it? No. It's 45 minutes to an hour from the ship to the airport. If there are any delays at customs getting off the ship you could be late getting to MCO. TSA lines at the airport as well can take quite awhile depending on the day.
stefanny28 Posted December 15, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 15, 2017 What is the earliest time for self-debark?
GTO-Girl Posted December 15, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 15, 2017 What is the earliest time for self-debark? We always do self assist and make sure we go downstairs at least by 5:45am to get in line. There are always 50-100 people already there. If you wait until 6:15-6:30 sometimes you have a hard time getting an elevator. A lot of people self assist on the Oasis!! Our experience is they start letting people off between 6:30-6:45. And being near the front of the line helps because we aren’t backed up waiting to go through security.
stefanny28 Posted December 15, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 15, 2017 So if we get off by 7:00-7:30, take the transfer to the airport ( approx. 1h-1h15), we should arrive at MCO around 8:00-8:45. Will 3 hours prior to the flight be enough time to go through security? It's not a domestic flight going back to Montreal, Canada
Capt_BJ Posted December 15, 2017 #8 Share Posted December 15, 2017 If you are not at the front of the "self assist" line which opens at 6:30 'usually' you could be in line for an hour getting to the ICE station. This means getting in line for 'self assist' around 5:30 according to other posts. If you are actually thru ICE by 7:30 you should be OK .... cincicruisers Posted December 16, 2017 #9 Share Posted December 16, 2017 Is it ok to get a flight out at noon?
Capt_BJ Posted December 16, 2017 #10 Share Posted December 16, 2017 Is it ok to get a flight out at noon? I'd say you are 80 to 85% safe there can be problems ...... ship arrival can be delayed (not common at Canaveral) or there can be an accident on the road (there is ONE direct route from port to airport ... with no exits and NOTHING in between. At least once a month there is an accident that closes this road for hours ... if ON it when it closes there is no way to get off. If not on yet, the alternates add 45 minutes or more to the travel time ....) I'd book a nooner :')
cincicruisers Posted December 18, 2017 #11 Share Posted December 18, 2017 What is the earliest we can get if we left our suitcases out for pickup the night before? We have a noon flight from MCO.
gorgotron Posted December 19, 2017 #12 Share Posted December 19, 2017 Oasis and Epic both dock at terminal 1, epic took about 2 hours to self debark and Oasis was roughly 1 hour. Best of luck.
