Miami airport shuttle pickup location? inner curb or outer island curb?

Haven't flown into MIA before so I was wondering do shuttles pick us up right outside the doors or do we have to cross out onto the island type curb between the different traffic lanes which looks like has bus stops.

Almost always at the middle island. And often you will have to go upstairs to the departure level to catch your (unspecified) shuttle after claiming your bags; be sure to clarify this with whomever is picking you up as the rules for pick up points are different for hotel shuttles, car rental shuttles, shared van/limo services et al.
