Cruise port to FLL airport

Thanks, everyone! I've decided to forget the 10:16 am flight -- too risky. There are at least 8 ships in port on 3/24/18 so the coming/going congestion alone deterred me. We'll get an afternoon flight.

i have not flown for 20 years so your post has me asking a question:

 

are you saying if you get to an airport earlier than your flight you can get on another flight with no fees/problems etc?

 

As to fees, that is dependent on the airline. That said, if there is an empty seat, then yes, it is possible to get on an earlier flight. But keep your receipt / boarding pass. If the airline does not note the change in your itinerary, your future flights could be cancelled. That almost happened to me once.
