cfly Posted December 25, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 25, 2017 I am booked on HAL's 10 day Jewels of the Baltic in July 2018. The ship docks in Stockholm at 8 am and departs at 5 pm and the next day is a sea day. Will we have a chance to see the ship sail through the archipelago? Does anyone have any comments on this itinerary?
gigianne Posted December 25, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 25, 2017 We were on the Z in May and yes you will cruise through the archepeligo twice - early in the morning and later that day. Don't miss it, it is spectacular and definitely one of the highlights of the entire cruise!

Heartgrove Posted December 25, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 25, 2017 We did this cruise this past June. The Zuiderdam will probably begin the three hour transit of the archipelago around 05:00 or just before. Fog does develop at times on the route and ships may be held in the area of Soderam Light. Traffic Control does not allow passage because of the difficulty navigating in the narrow passages. On our cruise we were delayed two hours and did not berth at Statsgarden until 10:00. It definitely is one of the most scenic port arrivals and departures. Make sure that you grab a seat in the Crows Nest when leaving at 17:00.
