Question re B2B cruises

Karen, we have started doing some b2b cruises over the last two years, up to now we have been doing 10nt or longer segments and always have received the $100 discount on each leg.We don't always have the same cabin but it's not a problem. Last time in October/November we had a lunch put on in the MDR and a bottle of Champagne as a gift which was nice! Dianne

We are also thinking of doing an European B2B in 2019. We will book a balcony or suite.

When you have to change staterooms, do you debark with your luggage and reboard again for segment 2 of your B2B? Or will ships crew move your luggage to the new stateroom? Where do you go, and what do you do waiting to reboard again?

Isn’t it more convenient to book the same stateroom for both segments of a B2B? That way, you do not have to carry off your luggage, check in again, and can stay aboard and not have to get off the ship?

Thank you.

Yes it is convenient to stay in the same room for the reasons you give. Though for all kinds of reasons it's not always possible.

If you do change room, you can simply pack your case and leave it and everything in your wardrobe on the coat hangers. Your existing stateroom attendant will move it all to your new room. The procedure is pretty painless.

You can choose to debark the ship or wait onboard. Before the end of your first cruise you will be invited to a meeting where all details and all of your options will be given to you. If this is your first B2B then I'd recommend going. But in short, it's all simple enough and well managed. Everyone is aware you're on a B2B so it's all good.

No problem. I'm about to book a B2B on another line. I hope they handle it as well.

I'd just add that if you're in a suite on the second leg, head for Luminae, assuming you're eating on the ship of course. If you book a balcony room, you will be able to have lunch in the MDR at the same sitting as that offered to Concierge class guests. If you are not a concierge class guest, simply tell the maitre 'd that you're on a BSB and you will be admitted.

Remember also, that Celebrity treat both legs as two COMPLETELY separate cruises. If you were to achieve a higher loyalty status after the first cruise, speak t the captains club host who can upgrade you for the second cruise there and then so you won't miss out on any applicable perks.

Did b2b last year and are again this year. We were never offered any laundry service and the first b2b was over 24 days on the ship. This year it will be 21 days. Have never seen anything in writing except 50% a bag that was offered on the last leg of the cruise.

Happy New Year, Your Highness! :)

It's much easier to request the same cabin for both cruises....but if you cannot you just pack up your personal items and leave your clothes on their hangers in the closet. Your cabin attendant will take care of moving everything into your new room. You do check in again but it's not like the first time. You'll receive information in your room about where and when to meet....sometimes the Sky Lounge and sometimes one of the smaller conference rooms..it depends upon how many are staying over...at this time you'll clear passport control, turn in your sea pass and receive your new one. You can stay on board and have access to the public areas or you can get off and reboard the same as any other port....you may or may not have access to your room during the day so it's recommended that you take anything vital with you after breakfast...like meds or a change of clothes if you're going in the pool. We did Baltic Caps and Norway out of Southampton as a B2B last August....it was a marvelous trip with wonderful weather all around and Southampton is literally a short walk (1/4 mile) from the dock with wonderful places to shop, eat and sightsee.

We did get a free bag of laundry on our B2B but to be honest I don't know if that was because we were on a B2B for a total of 21 days or because of our loyalty status (Elite).

Several years ago we were Back to Back in Harwich. We had to get off the ship and they took us on a brief trip to Colchester. This year we have a Back to Back in Barcelona. Anyone have any experience there on the turnover? Is there an excursion?

Thanks
