Lovelylady226 Posted January 5, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2018 Right now it would only save me $30 total if my bid were accepted because the price of the cruise has gone down so drastically. I bid the MINIMUM. Does it ever go down? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

RebelAthena Posted January 5, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 5, 2018 From my limited experience, no; I suspect that they would lose money that way. For instance: I was booked in an Aft Haven Pentouse with Master (H6); it was a minimum $500pp upgrade bid for a 2-bedroom Family Villa (H4). The price of the H4 dropped dramatically, but the minimum upgrade bid has not. Because of the drop in price, I simply called my TA, and I upgraded to an H4 for about $400 total. Had I done the upgrade bid (and been successful), I would have been furious. In fact, since since upgrading, my bidding options have not changed. RebelAthena Posted January 5, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2018 At this point, if you want the upgrade, I might simply call NCL or your TA and pay the listed price; you’ll be out that $30 bucks, but you’ll be able to select your room.
jdvmd Posted January 5, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 5, 2018 I watched this very closely a few weeks ago and the minimum never did go down despite the fares dropping.
FLAHAM Posted January 5, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 5, 2018 In my experience and that of several friends and family, where cabin prices have fallen within the 90-day final payment period NCL would not let us upgrade by simply paying the difference to the reduced fare.
