mactire Posted January 6, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2018 We are booked on the Discovery to the Caribbean for two weeks starting on January 21st and was surprised to read on one of the latest reviews that one of the cabins close to our cabin, we are in 7003, had a double bed but not enough room to accommodate two bedside cabinets. They had to change to two single beds because of having to climb over the person on the outside if they needed to get out of the bed. Has anyone been on any of the inside cabins on Deck 7? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Patrick
campolady Posted January 6, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2018 (edited) This was certainly the case on deck 2 of Discovery 2 (same layout as Discovery). On our first sailing on D2 in May the room was set as twins with one cabinet between which suited us fine and gave plenty of room. However, on our second trip (same cabin) in October the bed had been set up as a double when we arrived and it was pushed against the wall on one side with the cabinet against the wall on the opposite side - not suitable for us so we asked for it to be converted to a twin which was done immediately. I should add that we found the interior cabins on D2 more spacious than on all the other ships we had previously sailed on and the beds we4re extremely comfortable; we have booked the same cabin again (on Discovery this time) for this May. mactire Posted January 7, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted January 7, 2018 Thanks for your input Campolady. We have done a few cruises and always take inside cabins because we don't spend much time in there preferring to take advantage of the various lounges the ships offer. However, we have never been on a ship where the cabin wasn't wide enough to take a double bed and two bedside cabinets. We shall have to resort to two single beds. Thanks again for you helpful reply.
Sheila49 Posted January 7, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 7, 2018 Ours on deck 2 was also against the wall at one side and if we had an inside cabin again I would ask for the beds to be separated into singles. The cabin was a good size overall though with loads of storage. (There are hidden little cupboards behind the dressing table mirrors!)
