CodyMiles1994 Posted January 10, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2018 We will be visiting Grand Turk & Amber Cove for the first time this year for the Sunshine Halloween Cruise. Our plan is to drive down a day or two ahead & visit the Magic Kingdom at Disney then board the ship on Sunday. We will be visiting Amber Cove & Grand Turk. We will be in Grand Turk for Halloween day. Planning on the Steakhouse for the first time as well. We would like to review this trip, but are needing recommendations on where to stay in Orlando/Port Canaveral & Excursions on a Budget.
ProgRockCruiser Posted January 10, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2018 For where to stay in the Port area, post in the Florida Departures sub-forum. For your Excursions, post in the specific Ports-of-Call subforums.
pcvtmom Posted January 10, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2018 Both Amber Cove and Grand Turk are great, if you are traveling on a budget. There are free areas, with pools, zipline (Amber Cove) for a small fee, and beach (Grand Turk). Other than eats and drinks, you really don't need to spend money to have a wonderful time at either port!
youagain Posted January 13, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 13, 2018 Agree Both Amber Cove and Grand Turks were low budget days. Amber Cove just a pool / Shopping/ cruise port area unless you get a excursion or take a taxi some where. We stayed at pool and it is close enough you can go back on board for lunch or munchies then back out again. Some in our party about 4 weeks after it opened did a excursion and it was 45 minutes 1 way thru 3 rd world country conditions. Hopefully it is better now. Grand Turks free beach area and also free pool area at Margaritaville. First time we beached it at Grand Turks and walked down to Jacks Shack. This time we are renting a golf cart and touring and snorkeling our way around the island. It is about 90.00 a day for cart but have freedom of stopping at different beaches and areas of interest to us. You also are close enough to ship to go back for munchies or lunch if you are frugal (cheap) like me.Enjoy your cruise!
