Texting Plan?

Does anybody know anything about $30 unlimited texting that is available for the phone when on the ship. My sister said that something came to her phone when out at sea allowing her to sign up for it. We go on our cruise next week and are wondering if anybody knows anything about it.

Totally between you and your phone company. If you leave your phone on for texting, you could also send/receive phone calls at a high price

The only thing I know of is where you can use the NCL app to text other people on the ship via their room number or name (its been over year don't remember that well). I don't think it was $30. Also if you have an iphone and buy internet minutes you can text other iphone users via wifi. Just make sure the phone is on wifi and airplane mode (cellular data turned off).
