bitterbuffalo Posted January 19, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2018 We're wondering (a) if this plan would work and (b) has anyone already done it and could provide insight to how it worked out for them. The Plan - We are thinking about not having any dinners together as a family on our June Oasis Western Caribbean cruise. Most nights I’ll get ready for dinner then take the kid to Windjammer while Mrs. Cruiser gets ready. After the kid eats will drop her off at Adventure Ocean then meet up with Mrs. Cruiser as we make our way to our My Time Dining reservation. How’s that sound? Also - Is Adventure Ocean open day one? I’d like to get the FNDR deal to start our nightly dating routine off right. I've seen people write Adv. Ocean is typically open 7pm - 10pm for the night slot but I also looked at a recent Compass and didn't see the hours on there - at all. Is there somewhere else I should look to verify the open hours? And yes of course if by some surprise our daughter wants to eat with us and not go to the kids club we'll all be together. We're near certain she'd rather play then sit through a lengthy dinner with us.
melski Posted January 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2018 The first night AO is open 8-10 pm. All other nights it is from 7-10. Try to get there early as the first night typically has the longest lines to check in.

haply Posted January 20, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2018 When we have sailed Royal in the past, Adventure Ocean was not open for drop off on the first night. I am hearing that some of the ships however are now open (later around 8 or 8:30 from what I have read) on the first night. Royal kids club does not feed the kids (open through dinner) like Carnival. They will close at 5 PM and re-open at 7 PM. Royal does offer "My Family Time Dining" in which the kids club staff will come to a designated dining room around 6:45 and take the kids up to the kids club (this way you do not have to leave the dining room/dinner to bring the kids up to the kids club). You will need to eat/be seated earlier, and inform the dining staff that the kids will be leaving. They bring out the kids food first (before/during the adult's appetizers), then you can eat the entrees/desserts in peace after the kids go up to the kids club. The kids club staff will NOT walk around the dining room to come and find you, so make sure to bring them to the pickup dining room location by 6:45 (usually at the front entrance of the early seating dining room). We did not book the early seating, but just reserved the 6 PM slot for My Time Dining, just in case we wanted to do this on some of the nights. Norwegian did not have this feature, so we ended up doing the buffet for the kids/parents eating afterwards routine (also worked well as the kids preferred the buffet food any way). We too have really enjoyed "date night dinners", both appreciated by us and the kids, who much preferred playing in kids club to a long dinner seating. kknorr0320 Posted January 20, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Royal's kids club does offer dinner, but you have to sign them up to be there from 5-7. They take them to the Windjammer as a group. Sent from my SM-G930V using Forums mobile app
Rare mac_tlc Posted January 20, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Here is what the AO Kids Daily Planner says from our Oasis cruise last week: Adventure Dining Children present will be escorted for dinner at 5:30pm to the Windjammer and will be supervised by the Youth Staff starting Day 2 of the voyage. There is no charge for Kid's Dinner and children will return to Adventure Ocean for evening activities when dinner is finished. mac_tlc
