Hobart- Port Arthur

We have one day in Hobart. Would you suggest going to Port Arthur? How far is it? Does anyone know of a private tour company or do you think it's doable by renting a car? OR, should we do something different with our time. We are leaving Sunday so if anyone has any comments, I'm all ears.

There is a private tour company called Tigerline . They have several nice tours and are cheaper than the cruiseline. We are renting a car and going to the Tahune Airwalk and Bonorong Nature Park. That part of Tasmania is supposed to be quite scenic.

I feel that Port Arthur is a must if you are visiting Hobart. It is so much part of our history and it is a lovely place to visit.

 

It is not a huge drive from Hobart, probably about an hour or so away. It has so much to offer and will give you an insight to how our country was first settled.

Port Arthur is a MUST! Don't miss it.

 

We drove it on our own when visiting Tasmania, so I can't recommend any tours. Sorry.
