Ft. Lauderdale hotel -- teen

We're going to be staying an extra day in Ft. Lauderdale after our CB cruise in late March, with a very early (7AM) departure from FLL Sunday morning. I need to figure out a hotel for Saturday afternoon/night. We'll plan to take a cab to the airport to arrive around 5:30 (I think this would be enough time before departure at that hour) and I'd rather not face more than a twenty minute cab ride at that hour. My teenage (15) y.o. daughter will be with us; she likes the beach and/or shopping. I'm not able to spend a lot of time in direct sun. Any thoughts on a hotel at or under $160 for that Saturday? We're staying at the Amerisuites on 17th the night before the cruise, but we won't get in until late in the evening and then we board the next morning, so I'm not too worried about it. It didn't seem like it might be the best for us for a full day.
