Breakaway Haven - a couple of questions

Hi gang. Booked a suite on the Breakaway the first week of April and so looking forward to our first Haven experience. Just had a couple of questions:

  • Priority boarding: I've seen quite a few people post that Haven, CAS & platinum guests, as well as those requiring additional assistance, board first. That's all well and good, but it isn't clear if certain groups board first (Haven first, followed by platinum, then CAS, etc...), followed by the next, etc... Or do those noted get put into one lump group and all are invited to board at the same time?
  • Room service: I do see that Haven guests have more extensive options for room service, i.e. hot breakfasts, specialty dining (for a fee) and a few more. One thing that isn't clear is whether we can order anything from O'Sheehans as well?
  • Room service part II: If on the drink package, are we able to order cocktails via room service or butler or do we have to pay a charge for each drink?
  • Gym: Very familiar with the gym on board Breakaway, however I see some folks have mentioned a gym for Haven guests. Is that a separate location? Or are they simply including the standard gym available to everyone?
  • Haven Lounge/Bar: What are the hours of operation for the bar in particular? Does it stay open late enough to get a nightcap?

Many thanks in advance for any recent experiences and thoughts.

Or do those noted get put into one lump group and all are invited to board at the same time? Once you've gone through Check in process in the Haven waiting area you are then generally escorted onto the ship in small groups and taken to the Haven lounge.
  • oom service: I do see that Haven guests have more extensive options for room service, i.e. hot breakfasts, specialty dining (for a fee) and a few more. One thing that isn't clear is whether we can order anything from O'Sheehans as well? You can pretty much order anything via room service you'd like. If it is from a specialty restaurant then the same cost will apply as if you ate in the actual restaurant. If you want chicken wings and burgers from say O'sheehans its no problem and no extra.
  • Room service part II: If on the drink package, are we able to order cocktails via room service or butler or do we have to pay a charge for each drink? This would not be included in the beverage package and would charged separately.
  • Gym: Very familiar with the gym on board Breakaway, however I see some folks have mentioned a gym for Haven guests. Is that a separate location? Or are they simply including the standard gym available to everyone? The Breakaway doesn't have the Haven Gym that I'm aware of.
  • Haven Lounge/Bar: What are the hours of operation for the bar in particular? Does it stay open late enough to get a nightcap? This was hit our miss on our sailings. It generally was between 11pm and Midnight. I'd say more often then not is was closer to 11pm.

Many thanks in advance for any recent experiences and thoughts.

Hope that helps some.

It can vary. Sometimes, those requiring assistance (wheelchair, for ex) will board first. Sometimes, wedding parties will be first. Being a suite guest will usually put you in the first priority group if you are among the first suite guests to arrive.

No problem for the butler. He/she will bring the wings from O'Sheehan's. ;)

Officially, drinks delivered are not covered by the UBP and will get charged. If you get lucky, the butler might do it for no charge but it shouldn't be expected.

For a Haven gym, you might be thinking of Epic.

Boarding: as soon as you get inside the Manhattan terminal, find a staff member and ask them to direct you to the Haven check in. Our experience has been sometimes you get a shorter security line, sometimes you don’t. Once past security, ask again for the Haven line. You should be directed to a small room where they will take your photo, give you your cabin cards, and have snacks while you wait. The room is small and fills up quickly.

Gym: No special haven area, but my experience has been if you go in the afternoon it’s much less busy than in the morning. Sometimes the trainers will come chat, I freaked one out when I told him I was doing a 2.5hr bike ride! Half Ironman training...

Butler will bring anything you want to your cabin, just clarify whether there will be a charge when you call to order.

In our experience, if the bar is crowded, depending on the bartender, they will stay. We've closed the bar at 1:00am. Ordered pizza to be delivered for all to share. Had lots of fun.

Breakaway still does the whole pizza delivery? I thought they’d done away with that.
