Boatmans Lady Posted February 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2018 Can any of you experienced Regent cruisers please explain the difference between a type of cabin being 'waitlisted' or 'guaranteed' please. Thank you.
mikenbob Posted February 12, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2018 A "waitlist" means that the particular category is sold out, but there is a waitlist of people trying to reserve. This happens a lot of good itineraries that are typically quite a while from sailing. People reserve a cabin, place a deposit, and may/may not make the final payment. Regent will allow you to place yourself on a waitlist with no deposit, but those with deposits get called first. The $500 deposit is full fundable, so if you want a particular cruise you should pay the deposit when adding your name to the list. "Guarantee" means that you have a reservation for a category of suite, but have not been assigned a specific cabin. You may be bumped up to a higher level cabin, but that is not assured. However, you are assured a cabin within the category for which you have a guarantee...if you make the final payment. You may not know your specific cabin until a few days until you receive your embarkation documents. Generally not an issue unless you do not wish a cabin on a specific deck or location within the ship. Happy sailing!
