Vaping on your balcony

I am traveling with someone that vapes. The last post I have been able to find about vaping is from April 2017. I just wanted to know if you can vape from your balcony or do have to go to the designated smoking area. Vaping has become so common, I don't want the person I am traveling with to make any assumptions.

Vaping is considered equal to smoking cigarettes on Carnival, and in most places these days.

I definitely do not like to have any negative attention sent my way. I don't ever really smell it unless we are in an enclosed area. I am a rule follower just wanted to make sure. I read the smoking policy and all is clear!
