Due to price we are looking to fly into FLL Airport, and stay near Miami Port. Any ideas on hotel (clean and place to eat nearby), and what the cost could be from FLL airport to a Miami area hotel? I can find prices from POM to FLL airport, but don't have any idea about the other, or ideas of hotel options. Thanks!!

We like staying at Hampton Inn Brickell (downtown Miami). Very walkable area with new mall, restaurants galore nearby. Breakfast included. About a $10 Uber to port in morning.

From fll, you can Uber for around $35, cab for around 75$ or use a shared shuttle service for about $15-$20 per person, depending on hotel location.

Lots of hotels recommended here. Rates vary.

What time does your flight arrive into FLL? The later in the day you arrive, the fewer shuttle options you will find, and the prices will tend to climb. Uber and taxi prices mentioned above are accurate. Your other option is to stay near FLL and use a shared shuttle (about $15 per person from SAS, QLS, Go Airport and others) to get to POM the morning of your cruise. www.sunny.org has lots of FLL area hotel and tourist info.

Lots of posts on this board about Miami hotels - try the search function on the upper right side of the screen.

When do you cruise and what is your budget? The $300+ room in Feb can go for under $100 in August - the tourist season drives most of the demand. Give us some more info and the suggestions will be closer to your target. ;)

Thanks! Four of us arrive by 11:00am on May 3rd, and the other four arrive at 4:30pm. As far as a hotel...we are only looking for clean, and ability to walk to a restaurant. I am almost thinking we could stay around the Hollywood area (hotel with shuttle), and then check with SAS, or another company to take us to the port on May 4th, with a round trip picking us up on May 14th. Do you think that's a good option?

Past 2 years we have done this for our large group who flew into fll and stayed in Miami day before cruise.

To get to hotel with 4 in am and 4 later you can do any of the above transportation companies or grab a cab for around $70

Stayed at: Ramada Miami springs international airport hotel

*Cheap! I'm a super reasearcher and this was the cheapest we could find from FL to Miami

* super clean ( and i'm picky) and updated recently (*** must tip... the 2 king bed rooms are way bigger and nicer than the double rooms, spend the extra 15$, you wont regret it. We could have fit 4 king beds in our room as others in our party who booked double rooms had about 4 feet around their beds to walk. many were jealous lol)

* free breakfast in am

* great sports restaurant/pub attached to hotel so you don't need to leave property ( literally has a door to restaurant from hotel hallway). great food, great prices

* pool area great for sitting outside at night b4 bed (liqur store short walk away :)

* Shuttle service to cruise port. $10 per person. When you check in tell them u need to book shuttle, runs on the hour 9am 10, 11 , 12. super easy and about a 10 min ride

* Tip: book directly thru their website. We had an issue with wrong room and because I didnt book with expedia, and did book directly thru them ( manager told me this) she fixed the issue right away and got us in the correct room. nice staff too!

For ride home if all together on that flight suppershuttle.com is great. book ahead and for 8 of you price is $111 total for shuttle

We stayed at Homewood Suites FLL last year and they have complimentary airport shuttle. They also have a shuttle company on site that provides transportation to Port of Miami for approximately $15 pp. They do not charge for infants and small toddlers that sit on your lap. They also offer round trip shuttle and allow you to hang out at the hotel after your cruise until you are ready to go to the airport. They were very friendly, the hotel was nice and we are going back this October to stay with them. They also offer complimentary shuttle to some local places as well.
