leftyofnorth Posted February 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2018 Our ship will be anchored in Villefranche on May 27 and we wanted to see Eze on our own. What are our options of getting to and from the port to Eze? Is there a bus or are taxis available? Any assistance is appreciated.
Lutèce Posted February 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2018 There are trains from Villefranche to Eze, roughly every 30 minutes, taking 6 minutes to get there. €1.90 pp Use this website http://www.trainline.eu and be sure to enter Villefranche sur Mer as your starting point as there are several other towns with that name in France. What I don't know is how to get from the ship to the station and back, but someone else may know that.
Rare marazul Posted February 16, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2018 The station at Villefranche is within walking distance to the port. The train stops at Eze-sur-Mer, not at Eze. I understand there are buses that go from Villefranche to Eze. It has been posted before in this thread by hlitner. Maybe to OP can search the board for that info. buchhalm Posted February 17, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 17, 2018 It's a bit if a struggle on public transport. Whilst not far, it takes quite a long time with lots of walking on either end. Taxi would be quick, but extortionately expensive.
illini79 Posted April 28, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 28, 2018 On the Rome2rio website they compare all the routes to get from one spot to another. The cab is from $26 - $32 and an Uber is $16 - $23. With our family of four, it makes sense to Uber versus the train and bus.
Pavovsky Posted April 29, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 29, 2018 If you feel active and can manage lots of steps - you can walk up the hill in villefranche and get a bus to Eze. Line 112 0r 82 Alternatively, train to Eze our mer and get bus 83 from there. Another alternative is a very pleasant 40 min walk to Beaulieu sur mer and get bus 83. Eze is definitely worth the trip. http://eze-tourisme.com/en/practical/accesses/124-by-bus.html
