cotton32563 Posted December 23, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2005 I will be on Carnival Liberty in Feb :) and am looking at the Island Sailaway excursion. Has anyone done this? If so, did you book through the cruiseline or on your own?
PollyNJ Posted December 30, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 30, 2005 We did this excursion through Carnival in May 2005- vast age group youngest was 10 oldest was 82. We loved it. The crew was very friendly-sailing was great - snorkelling at first stop was very good- depth of water was about 25-30 feet I would estimate and you have about 45 minutes. They have equipment but we always bring our own masks and snorkels. Then it is off to Norman Island for a hour or so on the beach. The beach is small but very clean shallow clear calm water. Not many colorful fish but there is a small reef you can swim to. They have a beach bar with snacks and a small gift shop. A small amount of nice lounge chairs so grab one if you want one when you first arrive. Plenty of shaded area on the catamaran and at the beach. This was one of my favorite excursions Hope that helps. BTW I did price this through Patouche and it was a little cheaper maybe 5 dollars but since you are on the island such a short time I was afraid of missing the boat. nybumpkin Posted February 18, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 18, 2006 We have one non-swimmer; do they give you flotation equipment, or are non-swimmers better off staying onboard or ashore?
