txlolly Posted February 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2018 We are flying into Hobby in October and taking a shuttle to the port. Anyone have an idea where we can purchase 12 pack to take on ship?

Anyone have an idea where we can purchase 12 pack to take on ship? I doubt you will be able to take a 12 pack of anything onto the ship. Most ships have put a stop to taking anything other that water onboard. They can't make their money if you bring your own beverages.
Langoustine Posted February 20, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 20, 2018 Carrying on beer is generally prohibited, even on ships that allow you to carry on wine. I believe that Carnival even prohibits carry-on water.
txlolly Posted February 20, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted February 20, 2018 Carnival website says you can bring 12 pack each of soft drinks and bottle each of wine.
gomba13 Posted February 20, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 20, 2018 You can bring on a 12 pack of soft drinks as long as they are in cans. Same actually goes for water as well. You can bring on water in cans, that is if you can find canned water.
Rare Saint Greg Posted February 20, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 20, 2018 People are crazy. Yes you can bring a 12-pk of soda per person. I believe you can also bring on a 12pk at each port. Where to get it in Galveston? Good question. I don't recall seeing any stores around the port. I'm guessing the shuttle isn't going to stop at a store for you. Maybe in the airport? MoCowBell Posted February 21, 2018 #8 Share Posted February 21, 2018 Just stop at Bucees on the way in Texas City. You can pick up whatever you need.
beaucajun Posted February 21, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 21, 2018 Thank you Saint Greg for trying to answer instead of telling me I am wrong. I see Frankie's Liquor Store at 2218 Strand, 2 blocks from the terminal. It opens at 10am. I'm sure they would carry canned soft drinks.

BallFour4 Posted February 21, 2018 #11 Share Posted February 21, 2018 I doubt you will be able to take a 12 pack of anything onto the ship. Most ships have put a stop to taking anything other that water onboard. They can't make their money if you bring your own beverages. Depending on the cruise line this is remarkably bad information. You can carry one 12 pack of canned sodas per guest on Carnival ships at day of embarkation. You cannot carry anything in plastic bottles including water. Water can be pre-ordered and it will be waiting in your cabin. The price is cheap for that convenience. At least read the FAQ from the cruise line your sailing or giving advice about. . camijo Posted February 21, 2018 #12 Share Posted February 21, 2018 There's a Valero and Exxon on Harborside Drive as soon as you turn on there from 45. You can't miss it. It's on the way to port which is about 5 miles.
Spraygun Posted February 21, 2018 #13 Share Posted February 21, 2018 You can buy a 12-pack of soda at Frankie's. It might cost you a fortune though. That place is ridiculously expensive. The for sale sign, has been there for years. It's only the business. Not the building. You can also buy the drinks at the Cruise Stop. It's at 25th and Strand. Haven’t noticed the sign before a few months ago. Why not sit and have s few cold brews at Tola Mo Betta Market? It’s a bicycle stop for us most weekends.
