Rare villagenut Posted March 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2018 Even though we can't actually board ship, what is the earliest time someone with FTTF can enter the terminal and go thru check in process?

sbnuggie Posted March 3, 2018 #6 Share Posted March 3, 2018 We are staying at the residence Inn in downtown they say it's a 15 minute walk to the cruise port is this walkable for a family of 5 (2 16-year-old and 12-year-old) and we're all in good shape with a check-in window from 11 to 1130? Only you can determine if your kid's will go along with it. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in the middle of the French Quarter and I walked to the dock early in the morning (still dark out) to watch the ship come in. It took probably a half hour to get there but I didn't have luggage to drag along. I never gave it a thought until after I got back to the hotel how stupid it was to walk alone in the dark in a strange town.
dsotm73 Posted March 4, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 4, 2018 St. Greg has an excellent thread on walking to the port on the Ports of Call-New Orleans boards: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2562162 The main thrust of his thread is walking from the Hilton but there may be some information relevant to the route you would walk from the RI.
