Once you bid on an upgrade and it is accepted, is it allowable to call and ask for a different available stateroom in the same (upgraded) category? Our bid from OV to BA was accepted and we are happy with the room location, however our friends whose bid for the same category was also accepted, wouldn’t mind changing to a different area of the ship if it’s possible.

You can call, but they usually give you a room that no one else wants. Years ago you could call and ask for a upgrade(free) or up sell($$$) now they use the bid system. After final payment there is not to much you can do.
