Rock Climbing, minitaure golf, movies and shows are free.....why wouldnt the flow rider be free?

If it isnt free, if they decide to try to charge for it, we need to start a movement on this board to organize people to NOT pay to play!!!

Yea I noticed the same thing, and also somewhere I heard that the captain is letting passengers steer the ship and the casino is giving away free 100 chips

I hope that RCI is doing a better job researching, planning, and organizing this than they did with JRs. I hope they have a plan to deal with the crowds. They should probably do by appointment. Then they should give Diamond C&A people first priority.:D Now seriously if they don't have a plan and it gets crowded, I wouldn't be surprised if they implement a charge. The same thing happened with JRs. They poorly planed by putting it next to the teen club, and then surprise it became a teen hang-out. It doesn't take a genius to figure that one out. And it sucks that poor planning on their part becomes a fee on our part.

All I know is that it will be free when I sail.

While I am sure that Flowrider will be popular among a certain portion of the passengers, I'm not so sure that, in the long run, it will be that much more popular than the rock wall, ice skating, rollerblading, bungee trampolines or other activities available without charge on RCI's ships. I also suspect that there will be more folks interested in watching Flowrider participants than in being participants themselves. Until you have evidence to the contrary, it seems awfully cynical to assume that RCI will charge for it. The surcharge for Johnny Rockets seems to be an anomoly and appears to have been instituted because teens were hangling out there, and certainly JRs appeals to a wider range of passengers than something like Flowrider does.

Nothing's free in life either. Everything has a pricetag included. Why should cruising be any different?

Exactly.

I'm actually one who avoids "free" anything. It might not cost you $, but it may cost you time or make you indebted in a way you did not choose to be.

I would not choose a cruise ship or itinerary for any one feature. Having high expectations or thinking one experience will make or break a vacation for you is setting yourself up for disappointment. You have to think of these types of features as added benefits, not the total picture for enjoyment.

Yep. I have ZERO interest in the Freedom class ships. I know there are a lot of others that feel that way too. I am in the group that would not care one way or another about the "flowrider". No interest in watching, or using it.

I'm not interested in buying your bridge, but until there is evidence to the contrary, I don't see any reason not to believe that the flowrider will be free. Its appeal will be limited to a certain segment of the passenger list and since they don't charge for the rockwall, rollerblading, ice skating etc. I don't see a problem. Obviously there are few guarantees in life, but such a negative attitude can't be the way to lead your life.

Was just doing some price comparisons for a 2007 cruise on the RCI site. I found that balcony/suite cabins on the FOS are running about $200 higher than Voyager Class ships for the same cabins and dates. Although the Flowrider might be "included" in the cruise price, it isn't hardly "free".

Though I have little interest in the Freedom and no in the Flowrider I have an opinion regarding the question if there is a fee to use it or not.

I can see a couple scenarios happen:

1. RCCL start´s off the Flowrider with charging a fee for the use of it

a: People use it and pay the fee

(Fine for RCCL they have another profit rvenue)

b: People don´t use it and they will stop charging just like they did

with Rock climbing and Minigolf (Remeber they used to charge for

it)

2. RCCL start´s off the Flowrider without charging for it:

a: Everything is good no long lines, no complaints

b: Long lines complaining people about long lines -> RCCL will start

to charge for it in order to controll the masses.
