Kenny Chesney Cruise

Hello Cruisers,

Has anyone Heard of the Kenny Chesney Cruise

that sets sail on RCL on February 27th?

My wife and I are BIG Fans and are trying to

decide if we should go. The only thing holding

us back is $ the Price $$ - It is a wee bit expensive - though will be worth it I am sure.

This Cruise is NOT listed on RCL's website.

You can find it at www.kennychesney.com

Other country artists will also be there.

Please let us know what you think.

Thanks

I was also looking into the Kenny Chesney cruise on Feb. 27th. I called the number on the website and found out that the cruise isn't listed on Royal Caribbean's website because Kenny Chesney chartered the two ships for this event. Apparently tickets can only be purchased through the company who is running the event.

As someone who has never been on a cruise AND has never been to Florida, I'm trying to decide which ship to go on and whether it's worth the money they want. The same ships and the same itinerary go for about $500 per person. I know it's all about Kenny Chesney, but $1200 per person?! It seems pretty steep. Especially when you tack on airfare and a hotel stay.

My husband and I thought about it, I love Kenny Chesney and we love to cruise. I found out about it through an email from ticketmaster. It's a 4 night cruise and it sounds like fun but the cabin we would want (an SO) goes for $2000/person - that's way too expensive,(we've booked a mini-suite on a 15 day cruise and it's not much more then that and we don't have to fly anywhere it leaves from LA).

KennyCruzer - Yes, I made the decision to book the cruise. I researched it quite a bit and was unable to find any discounted fares. I really hope I don't regret shelling out all this money!! The cabins don't seem to be selling very quickly, so maybe if you hold out another few weeks they'll reduce the price. John Mayer is doing this type of cruise (put on by the same company) the beginning of February and there are still a lot of empty cabins. Perhaps this company overestimated how much people would pay for this type of thing. Anyway, good luck in getting the time off and finding funds! All in all, I think it's worth a shot.

Hello Everyone ...I have booked this cruise and it is starting to look like its going to be worth the money. They just added more artists.:o Yes it is very expensive considering we just get back from a cruise paying just about the same amount for 5 people on a 10 day....but what the Hay only live once! A friend asked if they would lower the price if it doesnt fill up and they said probably. Lets hope they do something for the earlybirders if this happens.

Lets hope its going to be as exciting as it sounds!;)

Tropicsfan.... I think you will have a blast!! I dont think there will be much time for relaxing on this trip. Coco Cay is beautiful! Which ship did you book? This is an expensive first cruise to take but I think it will be worth it;) I am hoping his buddy Tim shows up!!:p

Hey Ken...You can hope they reduce the cabins but then you will take the chance of a higher airfare:mad: if flying there. Use one of them credit cards, it will be worth it I hope! I can only imagine on the beach with a Pina Colada listening to Kenny Chesney sing.

So bring me two pina coladas

One for each hand

Let's set sail with Captain Morgan

And never leave dry land

Hope You get your time off!

Hey Crusin:

I booked the ship out of Miami. I'm really excited to go -- it's an anniversary gift for my husband -- he's a huge Kenny Chesney fan. In the reviews on this website it seems like the ship that's going out of Port Canaveral is the better ship, but I got decent airfare to Miami. So far, the cabins don't seem to be selling -- maybe we'll get a discount or some kind of cabin upgrade!! I'm nervous since it's my first cruise and I hear the cabins are SOOOO small. Any tips for avoiding seasickness? What a bummer that would be! Anyways, I keep daydreaming about sipping an umbrella drink, toes in the sand, listening to Kenny croon. . . . .

Tropics...Yes the rooms are small, but you are rarely in the room. Shower and sleep. This cruise was an expensive one, so your next one go for the bigger oceanview room. Only problem I have with an inside room is, in the morning it is so dark you could sleep all day, might need a wake up call. The cabin will be perfect for you 2.

As far as seasickness, knock on wood never had it. Last cruise we were on though I did get quezzy from rough seas. I tried to go watch a magic show and that didnt work, so I went to the casino and that took my mind off of everything

I really dont think there is going to be much difference in the ships. They are basically the same size. This being your first cruise you will be amazed I think! Its the next one you take that you will start seeing differences. Everyone has different opinions about the ships and cruise lines, and yes some are better then others but its all what you make of it.

I noticed a few weeks ago my radio station had nothing to do with the cruise, now they are offering chances to win. Maybe this isnt booking fast enough for them.

40 Days and counting down;)

Just got off the Dave Matthews Friends cruise. If the Kenny Chesney cruise is organized by the same people that did this one run (I heard rumors it was) for your life in the opposite direction!! So unorganized, one bad mishap after another. I can not blame them for the weather, but started out Friday night with the first headliner show being 2hrs. late due to electrical issues and went down hill from there. The number of tenders going back and forth from the 'secret island' aka Atlantis were grossly underestimated and many people missed the beginning of the concert. Make sure you eat before cause you'll stand in line for over an hr. to get tickets for beer and food (RCCL shut down Windjammer, dining room and Johnny Rockets - we ordered room service but never arrived), then stand in line to get the beer and food. A hamburger was $10.00. Atlantis was still selling tickets after the beer was gone. RCCL lost control of the people on board - pot smoking rampent, beer cans all over, smokers in non-smoker places, loud shouting all night. Very disapointing - hopfully they learned from their mistakes on this one and future cruises will go smoother!

Hi! Thanks for the info- and sorry your trip wasn't the best. All we can hope for is that the promoting company will "fix" any mistakes they made. Obviously nothing can be done about mother nature but I know everyone in the KC fan club is hoping/praying -whatever it takes -for great weather. The fans of KC are of a different breed than the fans of DM (although I am a fan of both!) I doubt there be much pot smoking but I do think there will be a lot of beer drinking! I just hope everyone respects their fellow cruisers, RCL employees and the ships themselves. Yes- we paid a alot of $$$ but we have no high expectations. As long as KC shows up and plays music I'm happy. We will plan on eating before we get to the island (promoters say it will not be on Atlantis where DM was- who knows?) and will bring our own snacks. Thanks again for the info.
