NCL Haven vs Royal Suite with Genie vs Celebrity Suite

Recommended Posts

We have been on 5 cruises on NCL, Royal and Celebrity. We balconies cabins for Royal and Celebrity. For the NCL Escape we won a bid for an AFT Haven Suite. It was beyond wonderful. It was our first experience with a suite and NCL does it very well .

I'd love to hear a comparison between the 3 cruise-lines for their suite/haven amenities. Did you prefer one over the other? Are the prices comparable for what you get? Which is your favorite?

I will post this on the other 2 cruise sites.

Thanks

We did Haven suite in NCL Jewel for Alaska last summer and then RCL Sky class (no genie) over Thanksgiving.

The suite lounge and coastal kitchen on Oasis were far superior to NCL. While we didn’t have the butler on RCL like we did on NCL, we didn’t really miss it. The one thing we did miss on RCL was the escort off by the concierge at the ports, but we did have it at debarkation and it was wonderful.

We felt that we were treated better throughout the ship on RCL than on NCL.

We are doing Star Class this Thanksgiving and can’t wait.

We did 2 cruises on the Oasis, with a genie each time, and will never sail RCCL without a genie. It was so nice to just fill out the survey the genie sends and have everything booked for us. Even to change times at a restaurant was never a problem, we were escorted in without question or waiting. We are in a Pinnacle Suite on the Eurodam this year to see Alaska but back to RCCL on the Anthem in 2019 (with a genie) for a New England/Canada cruise. I know you will enjoy your genie on Oasis.

NCL Haven is head and shoulders above RCCL suites. For a Royal Suite you're going to pay FAR more than any NCL Haven suite. The separate NCL Haven and the Haven restaurant are really what put them over the top for me. I personally prefer Royal's ships. I've also heard good things about Yacht Club, but good luck finding an available room anytime in the next 12 months....it seems popular!

We keep looking at Haven rooms but our problem is we want a large balcony, that is where we spend most of our time, and unless you book the S1 or H1 there are no Haven suites with any kind of balcony. As far as we can find RCCL has the largest balconies at the best price. We also like the Star Class because everything is included, with NCL and Holland you get the room and then you have to add speciality restaurants, drink package, internet, and anything else. We will eventually stay in a Haven but it will have to be the right suite at the right price.
