  1. You purchase it and it will be in your cabin when you get there. I purchased 2 for our Alaska cruise in Sept. 2022 and was told they were sold out and I would get a refund. Fortunately for me our genie found one and got it for us. They are very nice fleece blankets and we have enjoyed the memories it brings.
  2. We have always taken my granddaughter into the specialty restaurants. She has always been taught manners and even as a small child she would do pretty good. But we as grandparents were always ready to take her out until she could return and be good. Some are a little harder for small kids, 150 Central Park was a long meal but at 8 yo she did great. I disagree that they should not be allowed because in the end it is the parents who are at fault, maybe ask them to leave and let the kids stay and see how they act.
  3. I read or heard some where that to be able to collect from your insurance you had to sue the larger insurance company, which in this case would be Royal. Maybe they are suing so they can collect from their own when the one against Royal is dismissed.
  4. They all do it. I was reading that the burger place on NCL will give you mustard and ketcup but if you want anything else (pickles, tomato, lettuce) it is now a charge. So I guess you pick which line you like and pay whatever.
  5. I know I will catch some flack for this but.....you were happy with the price you booked to begin with and now it seems like everyone keeps watching and hoping for a reduction in price. If you were willing to pay the price you did why go thru the stress of canceling and then trying to rebook. Once we book things it is done and I rarely check again. Maybe that is because our room never drops in price and we don't pay for the drink package (talk about big bucks). I am glad things worked out for you and you could rebook. Have a wonderful cruise.
  6. Why should Royal reimburse. It was not their boat that sank, go after the tour company, they should pay. Then again, they are small compared to Royal so I guess everyone is suppose to expect the bigger company to pay for everything.
  7. My problem is...it is not Royal's fault this kid fell off a balcony. That means to me the parents should not expect someone else (Royal in this case) to take care of their child, or provide counseling or anything else. Take responsibility for your son's actions. And I am probably in the minority but at some point we need to be responsible for what happens to us or our family.
  8. Probably would make a difference on which ship you were sailing. We did it, not sure which ship but not Symphony, and would not pay again. The food just did not seem to be as tasty as the specialty restaurants, and we did not have anything from Hooked (that is how I know it was not Symphony.
  9. Looked at Avis and it is cheaper than National. I think I have transportation worked out. Now I just hope they have a Adventure crystal block handy so we can carry it home. It's always fun to see how TSA panics when they don't know what it is.
  10. I never thought the National rental office would not be open. Adventure leaves on a Friday so it seems like they would be there. I looked for Enterprise but they were not listed as being at MCO. I will look into if National will be there to drop off on Friday and I think the idea of GoPort for a return to airport is a good idea. I cannot express how grateful I am for all the help I have received.
  11. We are flying in the day before. We have never done a one way each way. We are not familiar with Port Canaveral which is why we were thinking of a week rental. Since you mentioned one way is the car rental return easy to do and how do you get the car for the return trip to the airport. I will look at National and see what their rates are. Thanks so much for the information.
  12. We will be flying into Orlando April 25 for a cruise on Adventure. We are thinking of renting a car instead of booking GoPort or private transportation. The rental companies for Orlando online are some I have never heard of but am thinking if they come up they are a known company there, correct? Also, any information on parking at the port would be appreciated.
  13. Interesting. We are basically 2 families. My son and granddaughter, then husband and I. Should we be getting 2 blocks when earned. We will get on in April on Adventure and 2 would be fun. Have only received one before.
  14. Granddaughter was 6 months when she went on her first cruise and it wasn't Royal. We never thought of leaving her home and always found excursions and other things we could do with her. She loves looking at the early pictures and hearing all the stories. Would do it all over again. Take your kids and have a blast.
  15. We just received RU offers for our Oct. 8 sailing on Harmony.
  16. It was ok. Their menu isn't the best. We will be on Harmony and think maybe the Coastal Kitchen for lunch this time. We can always go to Sabor during the week sometime.
  17. We ate there for lunch in April. You should be able to just walk up if you do not find a place to make a reservation. They did not seem that busy on embarkation.
  18. They did not charge us anything but they had said they would have to. They also do not like to do that but we insisted, we had a family reunion cruise and had over 300 photos we were getting. The quality was very good but I am not a photography person, although husband used to be big into photography and he thought they were very good. You cannot bring you own drive, even sealed, as they will not use that. Fun thing is the drive is one of the ship. But, as I said, we had to insist because of the number of photos we did not want to wait for the photos to be sent via email. This was on Allure. On Symphony they were way nicer and offered to download them to the drive. Guess different ships have different thoughts on that. Good luck, however you get them.
  19. We always purchase a photo package. We have had specialty restaurant photos included in what we can purchase. The last 2 cruises we have asked for and received a flash drive with the photos on it so we don't have to wait for a link. Getting the photos taken can be a lot of fun as we take both serious and funny photos.
  20. I actually plan nothing, that is what the genie is for. I just know some of the genies and I know they sometimes change ships so it is good to know which ship they are on, maybe one we would be on and I could request them.
  21. I never said it affected my plans nor which genie we might get. I was just curious which genies might be on the ship when we sail. Did not think there would be a problem with that thought. Sorry you seem offended.
  22. I know it is far away. But for someone who likes to plan it is nice to know waaaay ahead of time. I constantly check back for that kind of information. There are just so many genies and we have only had one genie more than one time. It is nice to meet and have new ones but also nice to try to get one you know again. Looking forward to Harmony in October.
  23. It would be nice to know when genies take vacations and then be back. We will be on Harmony Oct. 8 and would be interested in know which genies would be on then.
  24. So my granddaughter is D+, she sailed for every one of those points. But she has always taken her teddy bear so teddy bear is also D+. Now if teddy bear goes on another cruise and brings her new mate can we go to loyalty ambassador and get the new teddy bear D+ status? Just asking for a friend. Not sure how I feel about people getting status just because they sail once with parent. Somehow it doesn't seem fair that we have to get on the ship to get the status and a child just has to sail once to get the status. But they still need their points to reach a different level. And, yet we cruise because we love to and the points are an added bonus.
  25. Only you can know if Star Class is right for you. If you have never tried it then you don't know how you would like it. It can be more expensive but if you watch prices there are good deals. We have done SC since it has been introduced but we can only do two cruises a year because we have to fly everywhere and had decided if we fly we want a great room. We love the A1's and would stay in those even if not Star Class. I know the internet is nice to have since we sail as a family and have my now 16 yo with us and she needs internet for school. Enjoy the drinks but being D+ now the 5 per day is enough. We will always purchase specialty dining as we like the less crowded atmosphere of the restaurants instead of the MDR. So up until now SC has been a good deal for us. So, you can check prices, room locations, and then decide for yourself if you think it is a good deal.
