luckydog10 Posted December 27, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 27, 2005 Just back from the Voyager of the Seas, Western Carribean 12/17-12/24 - 2 adults and 13 year old boy. We loved the boat and the trip. Some pointers, if these help - #1: The Royal Promenade cafe is terrific for a quick breakfast and an afternoon snack - no reason to go to the Windjammer for afternoon snack unless you "like" cafeteria food and atmosphere #2: Labadee is wonderful - go to th farthest beach (I believe it is Hideaway) - wonderful, quiet and great sand/water/views #3: We went on the river tubing in Jamaica, organized by the ship - wonderful, fun and gave a terrific viw of Jamaican countryside #4: the food in the dining room was quite good - pleasant, well presented and the dining room is lovely. We have eaten in very good restaurants, and while the food is not up to true gormet quality, it really was not bad at all, and we looked forward to our meal there. #5: The windjammer is awful - cafeteria atmosphere and just fair quality food - go for the fresh salads and daily specials/carving boards - the rest is cafeteria-style food - overcooked and not tasty at all. #6: Do not miss the snorkeling in Grand Cayman - both to the stingrays (yes, very crowded and touristy but amazing, once in a lifetime exeprience), and to the reefs - you can arrange on shore for less cost than the ship (We used Moby Dicks - very good) #7 - the ice show was fabulous!!! any questions please ask away
