Any info on the Courtyard Villa on the Ocean in FLL?

Our family of four (DH and I, plus our 17 and 9-year-olds) will be coming in two days early for a cruise leaving FLL on the Costa Magica on April 2nd (prime Spring break week). Because we are coming in two full days early, I wanted something on the beach; however, I didn't want to pay alot of money. Considering Spring break, prices at all of the FLL-area hotels are of course through the roof. I am currently booked at the Courtyard Villa on the Ocean. It is a very small hotel located right on the beach. Does anyone have any first-hand knowledge of this place? Any information will be greatly appreciated.

It's a little bit north of Ft Lauderdale proper. Unless your renting a car, the transportation costs will put a dent in your budget. I've driven past it numerous times and its always stood out as a pretty hotel from outside. If the rooms are kept half as nice as the exterior is kept I think you may have found yourself a nice hotel. Please give a review upon your return, I may have to plan a weekend there soon for myself. ;)

Thanks, Bequia. I can find very little written about it (although it did get a nod from Frommer's). We are indeed renting a car in FLL. I thought I would just return the car to the airport the morning of the cruise, and then grab a cab over to the pier, since it's just a short drive away (I think I remember something like $10 for a cab???). We're planning to do the airboat ride in the Everglades one afternoon, but the rest of the time, we'll spend knocking around the beach and resting up for the cruise (Keeping tabs of our teenage Cassanova has proven to be exhausting in the past:rolleyes: ). I will definitely post a review upon our return, and if anyone else has any other info on this hotel, please let us know.
