Fridges on Miracle?

A piece of advice from seasoned cruiser. The in room fridges on ships have a bit of a design flaw as they are enclosed in cupboard space. This makes the fridge not get really very cold (fighting its own heat it generates). Many people suggest leaving the cupboard door open, but this can create a hazard from running into it.

Hubby finally got smart about 4 years ago and realized if he reaches in and slides the fridge just far enough forward, you can keep the cupboard door from closing all the way and leave it 1-2 " ajar. This seems to do the trick and fridge gets nice and cold. Also room steward doesn't mess with it (if you leave the door all the way open, they tend to close it when the clean)

We were on Miracle in February. As soon as we got to the room we checked the fridge. We also noticed that the room steward covered the vent on top of the cabinet. Once we moved the water tray and bottles the fridge worked great. We always kept our large water bottles and our emergency six pack of beer.
