Can Carnival Corporation Rewards Card from Amex value be used for S&S acct?

Has anyone ever used a Carnival Corporation Rewards Card from Amex for their S&S account? It appears to be a gift card (I can use Amex points to purchase different values) but it looks much different than the regular Carnival gift card.

 

I'm wondering if I can put the value into our S&S account. I can't seem to get a straight answer from Carnival or Amex. We're paid in full so I can't use it for the actual cruise but would love to have it as OBC. But, I don't want to purchase it if we can't use it in our account.

 

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this card?

 

Another random question since we're Carnival newbies.......do I sign up all family members for a VIFP before the cruise or do they get a number when we check in? I got one because I made the reservation but no one else has one listed on their account.

I would bring your reward card to check-in at the port and ask them to apply to your S & S account.

 

Every guest will be assigned a VIFP number to use for future cruising.

It is actually an AmEx gift card that you can only use for Carnival. I have used one on the Pride last year. They will just put it on your S&S card as a credit card and charge to it until it runs out. I am using another one on my next cruise in June.
