What should we do in Curacao?

We've been to Curacao a few times, and it is a great place to just stroll around town. There is a self-guided tour you can take of some of the historical spots, and you can hit some shopping stops and the floating market along the way. There are also several casinos. Playa Porto Mari is a nice beach club that is about a 20 min. taxi ride from the new pier (maybe a few more minutes from the old pier). You can swim or snorkel or just beach it there. There is a beach bar where you can also get refreshments. The drive there will take you past some residential areas and you'll also pass a colony of flamingos as you enter the park. We've also taken snorkeling excursions at Curacao, which were very worthwhile, and we've taken the semi-submersible which was good.

We took a mountain bike (it was just a dirt path nothing extreme) ride in their National Park (Christofel - spelling wrong). It was wonderful - nice bus ride out to the park and wonderful vistas of the ocean when we stopped at a bat cave (for the crazy ones to explore). We also stopped at the ocean for a short break. Terrific excursion and we were back in plenty of time to explore the shops and take the ferry from one side to the other.

We booked the excursion through the cruise line - RCCL. A bus met us at the pier and took us through town and out into the countryside. Excellent bikes, helmets provided, light refreshment provided on the hilltop overlooking the ocean - beautiful.

Hope you get to try it.

Cheers

Kathy,

Glad to see you posting, are you in Naples? We will warm the Brilliance up for you, as we are leaving on Jan 23rd. We will miss you guys on this cruise, stop in and say hello on our Meet & Mingle thread.

What else did you do after you did the bicycle tour? I was booking the Dolphin Swim, but they came back and said they wouldn't book with us directly because the ship does tours. I am not paying $209 per person.
