kubies Posted April 17, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 17, 2018 Need advice for transport to Mendenhall for two "seniors" who have some minor mobility issues. Don't need a guided tour as we have been there before; just advice for the most affordable and "doable" options.
mapleleaves Posted April 17, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 17, 2018 A rental car would give you the opportunity to drive to the coast and do a little exploring, but if that isn't an option for you, there are 2 shuttle companies to choose from, or a cab : Details listed in the NF web site: https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/tongass/about-forest/offices/?cid=fseprd495443
CM1984 Posted April 20, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 20, 2018 We are 4 seniors, didn't want to take shuttle and wanted to meander around. We are renting a car from Juneau Car Rental. Really nice to work with. Good luck.
newmilford Posted April 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 21, 2018 Take the Blue bus. They sell tickets right at the dock. It takes you to Mendenhall visitors center and you decide when you want to return. Simple, inexpensive and you control your tour.
