Single Cruiser Posted April 30, 2018 Author #176 Share Posted April 30, 2018 Despite me saying I’d have a day off I still managed to get through a few pints before making my excuses to retire early. I’ve not really slept a good night sleep all cruise and so hoping to get one night in. This is my swan song TA cruise. Due to a number of issues including primarily health issues it’s no longer suitable with the current aches and pains. It was nice however to get back to my cabin to a good pack of photos/ certificates from NCL for the inaugural cruise. Single Cruiser Posted April 30, 2018 Author #183 Share Posted April 30, 2018 So we were late docking due to the Fog but the Capt extended our stay by half an hour now leaving at 6:30. A nice hearty breakfast to prepare for my adventures ashore later And Halifax has emerged from the Fog Sent from my iPhone using Forums
MrMike45 Posted April 30, 2018 #184 Share Posted April 30, 2018 As your cruise is almost coming to an end (sorry)...wanted to ask what the biggest misses (probably too many hits to list) of the new floating island ship are? Might be hard to tell on a half booked ship designed to hold like 4000 pax, but nonetheless. Asking the same of all 3 "live" reviewers to get each of their takes on what they personally are not a fan of on the new ship.
tiffcruisers Posted April 30, 2018 #185 Share Posted April 30, 2018 Thanks so much for taking precious ship time to post. The pics and dailies much appreciated! I am sorry to hear you've felt "sloggy" this trip. Hope you have a great time ashore:):):):)and feel more energetic. And hope they refresh drafts with a delicious variety of brews! Biggest misses for me: Variety of entertainment (same vocalists in same venues singing same songs) Lack of anything from the captain like daily updates No sail away parties Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Single Cruiser Posted May 1, 2018 Author #195 Share Posted May 1, 2018 Well last night was a good night. Single Cruiser Posted May 1, 2018 Author #196 Share Posted May 1, 2018 So we are taking 2 sea days now to reach our final destination New York! It could be done in one day so we are going a slow 10knots. Will be interesting to see how the weather changes from the cold of yesterday to the expected warmth of NY on Thursday. Here’s today’s dailies Sent from my iPhone using Forums
JayS Posted May 1, 2018 #197 Share Posted May 1, 2018 I was on the Breakaway TA. Unpacking and packing for the Bliss PC cruise. Thanks for this blog. We passed within 60 miles of you according to our captain. The weather was foggy and no attempt was made to meet the Bliss. Earlier I talked to the captain who said they were thinking about passing close to the Bliss. Our weather in Ponta Delgada was as bad as yours in Halifax. So tonight I went to Cagneys. It was one of the Latitude rewards and previously I’ve had the baked potato soup, 8oz fillet and a nice Oreo cheesecake for dessert. Shock that it has a new menu with no baked potato soup. Menu The price on the BA Cagney's $20 for a porterhouse, and if my memory is correct a lower price for the shrimp and oyster appetizers. The shrimp only had 3 shrimps, earlier cruises had 4 or more. marcyjane Posted May 1, 2018 #198 Share Posted May 1, 2018 Thank you so much for all the good info and sharing your cruise with all of us. I have few question as we booked yesterday for Alaska in 2019 on the Bliss. So I have a lot of time to explore the ship and post here on cruise critic. 1. Could you possible post a list of the free venue's to eat breakfast, lunch & dinner choices. 2. What is the dress code for the pay venue's & the main dining rooms. 3. Is there a smoking area on the ship and if so what deck and area. 4. Shows in theater do you need to book prior to cruise and is there a charge. Thank you in advance for you time and trouble.
