Rare CruiseIreland Posted April 23, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2018 Hi. Does anyone know what beach MSC uses for the tour described here? "A seemingly endless ribbon of beach, the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea and the hot Jamaican sun combine to form the perfect setting for your half day at the beach. Once at the beach location, grab yourself a free sun lounger, hire an umbrella and then do just as you please...." They are charging $42pp. I am afraid they will just drive down the road and we could have taken a cab there ourselves for a lot less. Ken
bug18 Posted April 23, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2018 I called MSC and the agent didn't seem to know the beach name but did say it's about a 45 minute drive.
cruizze20 Posted April 24, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 24, 2018 Hi Ken There are 2 really nice beaches in the are you can go to. There is Bamboo Blu beach or the Bamboo beach Club. There is also 1 very close to the port but tend to be very crowded at time because its walking distance from the ship. Bamboo Blu is about 15 minutes drive from the port and its free to get in but you have to rent a chair if you like and there is a beautiful bar there. Bamboo beach club charges $12 to get in. If you need a private cab you can contact Chris Jamaica tour. highly recommended.
cruise-addict Posted May 14, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 14, 2018 Cruizze20- can I please have more information about the beach within walking distance? We are the only ship scheduled to be in Ochos Rios the day we're there, so maybe it won't be overly crowded (?)
