mrsfuzzmo Posted April 23, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2018 I just read on another thread that there is a light rail that we can take from SEA to downtown somewhere. What would be the closest to Pier 66 if that's even possible? Is it worth it? We arrive late in the evening pre-cruise so will be staying near the airport. Then need to get to Pier 66 for cruise next day. Not in a rush, and looking for inexpensive.
crzndeb Posted April 23, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2018 The last stop downtown is Westlake. This is where you would get off. You could then catch a cab, Uber or Lyft down to Pier 66. It’s walkable without luggage, but with luggage transportation is a good idea. I have heard a cab is about $10-15, not sure about Uber, Lyft. Rare martincath Posted April 23, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2018 We've done LINK to Westlake then cab (to hotel) - works well if you travel reasonably light, and as long as you don't come downtown too early and catch commuters packing the train it should work for you getting to the pier too. You could even walk if you're sufficiently mobile, in which case just the $3 LINK fare per person, but be aware Seattle has some very steep streets! Depending how many of you there are and how many bags you have you may not find the savings worth the hassle of schlepping them though - check whether your airport hotel is a pickup for one of the shuttles to the pier (less than $25pp each way), and check fixed rate cars like EastSideForHire for pricing from your hotel. Since cars charge per vehicle not person the $39 from airport to pier can end up costing less than a beer per person extra compared to transit...
