Mini-DV camera question

We're already looking forward to our Jewel trip SOOOOOO much, so I went out and picked up a Canon rz-100 mini-dv camera to record it.

After getting home, my paranoid mind began wondering if the tapes are in any way likely to suffer from the x-rays in the airport or on the ship?

Should I have gone with the mini-DVD disc instead?

If anyone can put my mind at ease, or offer any tips, I would appreciate it.

no tapes, flash cards, compact flash etc are not effected by x-rays. Magnets however are a different story....

Not a problem at all! Just make sure you bring it on your carry on with you! Have a BLAST on the Jewel!

I will throw my 2cents in as well. X-Rays won't affect your tapes, but once again make sure you bring it with you and no pack in your suitcase.

x-rays will only affect film, all digital and magnetic media is safe

On my first cruise we met a nice couple. On the last night he had all his pictures developed in Curacao paying premium prices thinking that the xray would ruin them and warning us that our pics would be ruined. i was scared cause I had @ 10 rolls. Got home, no problem for either film or vhs.
