nonna5 Posted December 31, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2005 Does anyone have the website for the forms for childrent traveling with only one parent? I got them of this website a few months ago but have misplaced them and have not been able to find them by searching. Thanks for any help you might have. nonna5 Posted January 1, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted January 1, 2006 Thank you for the info. That was the last thing to do on our list. Now we are just counting down the days.
linnied Posted January 1, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 1, 2006 Hey, your question, sparked a question for me. I am a single parent, with custody of my 2 children. Will I need special papers, or forms to travel on the Disney Magic eastern cruise? If so, what and would I go to the same website linked below? Thanks all - first time cruiser here
cindy58 Posted January 1, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 1, 2006 We have cruised many times on Disney, RCCL and Carnival and I was never required to have a form for my son, even though his last name is different from ours.
nonna5 Posted January 1, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted January 1, 2006 I would rather have the form and be safe rather than sorry. It takes no time to fill them out. We too have been on many cruises and land vacations taking our grandchildren without any forms and only once have we been asked for the form. But like I said better safe than sorry. judytata11 Posted January 1, 2006 #7 Share Posted January 1, 2006 I've taken my DGD on many trips here and abroad and I always take papers from his parents that have been notarized. We've been to Canada twice and both times we've been asked for the papers.
Sheffie Posted January 8, 2006 #8 Share Posted January 8, 2006 Thought I'd move this to the front. Good information.
Arwenmark Posted January 8, 2006 #9 Share Posted January 8, 2006 You are just plain lucky. You do need permission papers etc and if you are asked and don't have them you don't go and no refunds.
Sandra* Posted January 12, 2006 #10 Share Posted January 12, 2006 My husband and I have children from another marriage and when we vacation...cruising or by land...we get a letter signed by the other parents confirming that they are allowing us to take our children on a vacation, etc... we get it notorized and bring along the child custody agreement if needed. We haven't yet been asked for these documents but we have them just in case.
leavnofingerprints Posted January 13, 2006 #11 Share Posted January 13, 2006 When we cruised with our grandchildren, I had a notorized consent from their parents with me. No one asked for it when we boarded, so I packed it away "somewhere" and thought no more of it. When it came time to pack up on the last night of the cruise, I wasn't as careful as I had been for boarding the ship. Besides, we had finished our cruise and were back in the US. Much to my surprize, I was asked for the form when debarking. I knew I had it but where? The Immigration officer separated us from our grandchildren and asked all of us lots of questions before they would allow us to carry on. Needless to say, it was not the way I would have chosen to end a cruise. LNF
Starz723 Posted January 14, 2006 #12 Share Posted January 14, 2006 I have been on 2 cruises with my son. I am a single parent. My husband is deceased. They have never asked me anything. Now Im wondering..should I bring a copy of my husbands death certificate?
leavnofingerprints Posted January 18, 2006 #13 Share Posted January 18, 2006 IMO it wouldn't hurt especially with the high security levels nowadays. LNF
