rough waters in the winter?

I am sorry that was mean:o

I have cruised out of NY the last two winters and will be going again in Feb. The seas are not as bad as I expected. You may get a day or two with some rocking but I have never been on a ship that handles it as well as the Dawn.

Here is a more typical shot from the first sea day on the current Dawn cruise. The seas are the luck of the draw. FYI the shot above was with the exception of one day the worst I have seen in two winters the Dawn as been in NYC.

what is the best month to sail out of NY?

The month you go. :D

The weather is week to week. The fall you are at the end of hurricane season. Early November the seas are still warm. December has some great deals before the holidays. Jan/Feb break up the winter well. March/April it starts to get warmer.

I don't think there is a bad month just bad weeks and that is the luck of the weather draw.
