jimbug Posted January 2, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 2, 2006 Can anyone give me estimates of travel time from LaGuardia and JFK to the pier in New York City that NCL uses? Thanks a million! We are beginning to consider a Dawn cruise next year, and just curious about which airport would be best.
NoCruiseBlues Posted January 2, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 2, 2006 Can anyone give me estimates of travel time from LaGuardia and JFK to the pier in New York City that NCL uses? Thanks a million! We are beginning to consider a Dawn cruise next year, and just curious about which airport would be best. There is a fixed rate taxi fare from the NY Airports to the Cruise Terminal. From LaGuardia it is $30 + extra for luggage. The ride usually takes about 30 minutes & requires NO TOLLS. Tell the Cab driver that you want him/her to use the 59TH Bridge. I believe the Fare from Kennedy is $40 + extra for luggage. this trip is longer due to distance from the Airport to the Cruise Terminal. Again, tell the driver to use the 59th St. bridge. Hope this helps with your decision making. Happy Sailing. May all your cruises be PLEASANT & MEMORABLE ones.
smeyer418 Posted January 2, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2006 This isn't accurate. The only fixed rate is from Kennedy to the piers it is $45.00 plus tolls and tips. There is no extra charge for luggage. From LGA it should cost under $30.00 even though its not fixed again plus tolls and tips except from LGA there should be no tolls. Kennedy, as long as its not a week day it should take under an hour and LGA again depending on traffic it should be 30-40 minutes. From Kennedy its faster through the midtown tunnel. But you can always take the 59th street bridge and not pay the toll. During the am rush hour, cabs can use the HOV lane from LGA but this again is a longer trip and requires going through the midtown tunnel but may in fact be faster. here is the official rate sheet from NYC http://www.nyc.gov/html/tlc/html/passenger/taxicab_rate.shtml
