Mambo beach at night?

I know Wednesday the beach shops are open until 9..and I have read mixed reviews as to whether there is live music etc...

 

My options- go to a nicer beach resort far from port and do just that (it will take all of our port time).

Go to less nice beach resort for the afternoon and then head to Mambo beach for an hour or two before or ship leaves at 1030..

 

Any experiences? Thank you.
