Would anyone know if there is club class dining on the Diamond in Japan? There is traditional dining listed. Anytime dining is not listed as an option. If there is club class dining, is it in one of the traditional dining rooms?

Thanks

There is Club Class dining on the Diamond in Japan. It is the only way to get "anytime" flexibility on those sailings, as they go to full fixed seating in the dining rooms. So by all means, I think it would be worth it to do a minisuite or suite that enables Club Class.

We are on Diamond Princess in June and have been advised the reason for fixed dining is so passengers speaking the same language are seated together. The waiting staff are allocated tables were they can converse in the correct language.

This is the theory, but they also have a lot of multi-lingual staff on board. We were in a section of "mixed" languages (English, Japanese, Mandarin, and whatever else) with a serving team where each spoke at least three languages.

When I booked a cruise on the Diamond for October 2019 Club Class was shown as available and we chose that option. Interestingly enough, on the confirmation document we are suddenly listed as asking for a 5:30PM seating at a table for six!

I suspect this is some sort of glitch which can be rectified later.

On my April 2018 Diamond Princess 7-day Spring Flowers Cruise around Japan, Club Class was in the Santa Fe dining room on Deck 6 (starboard side).

It was listed in the Patter as Anytime, while the rest of the dining was Traditional. Please note that since we had 3 days with late port departures, those nights were Open seating in all dining rooms. Basically, first night, last night and both formal nights were traditional.
