California has been offering Real ID compliant driver's licenses since Jan 22, '18.

Yes, but my CA drivers license doesn’t expire for several more years. I’m not about to waste my time in a CA DMV office to get a Real ID compliant license until I Absolutely have to. Since I have my Passport Card valid for awhile, why trek down to the DMV?
