Hotel Recommedations - Beijing, China

Sailing on the Pacific Princess out of Beijing, China this summer. Any past cruisers have hotel recommendations for Beijing? We will be there four days pre-cruise. Would like something in the $50-75 night range. Any information from past cruisers will be appreciated. Email me at FLTXKS@aol.com

We were there the end of October into November. That is one big, big, big city. We stayed out past the 5th ring road on the highway to the Great Wall. A beautiful 5-Star hotel but we were with a group with transportation. It would take an hour to get into the heart of the city. Traffic is not to be believed.

 

I would recommend you stay more to the center of the city where it would be easier and cheaper to get to the Square and Forbidden City. I would do a search at one of the on-line sites like expedia to get an idea. I also recommend you stick to 4 or 5 star hotel. You should be able to find one in the $80-90 range but believe me, the few extra dollars are well worth it.
