Rome earliest post cruise flight when using RCI transfer to FCO?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Wasn't sure where to post this - ports of call or here. I'll be sailing from Civitavecchia. I intend on using ship's transfer to get to Rome's airport (I'm traveling solo and feel more comfortable using ship's transfer and don't want to use the train). What is the earliest time that I should book a flight that will be going to Toronto, Canada? Would a 1:30pm flight be ok?

TIA for any feedback.

1:30 is fine. I've made flights as early as 10:00 out of FCO after a cruise, albeit using a car service .

You'll have plenty of time.

My FCO flight leaves at 11 a.m..

The RCCL advisor booked it via Air2sea as well as the ship’s transfer - so hopefully it’ll all work.

I traveled solo as well, and used the RCL transfer for the same reason as you. Went flawlessly...

I believe I was on the second shuttle bus

"I had booked the RCL shuttle to FCO airport ($92). My gathering place was the Safari Lounge at the back of the ship at 7:15am and I got there right at that time. Within 5 min we were being escorted to the shuttles outside.... "Bong"..."Bong"... "Bong".... {sigh}... ah well, back to reality. I found my luggage easily, and the instruction from the port staff was excellent in leading people to their appropriate buses. The bus filled and we are on our way within 15min after that. All in all, we left the port a few minutes after 8am and we arrived at FCO at 9am. My flight was 11:45am and RCL recommends no flights booked before 11:30am. Everything worked out perfectly. Soon enough I was on the plane to Heathrow looking down at the Alps from my window seat, reminiscing and looking through my camera of all the excellent photos and videos I had taken"

I believe that for our Jewel Med cruise 2 years ago RCCL advised flight reservations be after 10:45 am. Our only choice (using mileage) was 10:25 am. We got an early exit (our number was 3), use a private car service and were to FCO by 8 am. Wouldn't use that as a guide but an early flight can be done.
