It is worth going to the shopping seminar, nice little prizes for going and managed to win a really nice mini rucksack just for answering a question, at least 10 prizes were handed out.

The sun has gone in today and most people are inside, not a great variety of activities but now playing bingo. Cost for bingo currently is $29 or €39 plus $3 for a dabber. If you have a gold or above crown and anchor you get more cards for the last game. Busier than normal in here for this but probably down to the weather.

Lunch in windjammers was very crowded, with regular announcements to ask you to vacate when you had finished eating to allow others in.

When doing quizzes in the schooner bar, don’t what ever you do be on your phone or laptop or people will accuse you of cheating and then spend the rest of the quiz checking out what you are typing in your own personal computer. Please remember you are holiday to have fun. [emoji16][emoji274]

I'm also on the 15th June sailing. This is massively helpful - thank you! Particularly appreciate you posting cruse compasses... we're sailing with a baby and looking to utilise the night nursery a couple of times - knowing what's on when will hopefully allow us to book the evenings we want right from the beginning of the cruise. Thanks again!

Formal night - very mixed dress on the ship tonight, jeans [emoji158] etc allowed into Main Dining room, real mixture of attire, on the whole very smart, but not as many people in full ball gowns, a lot more ladies wearing cocktail dresses and lots of men wearing DJ’s. Food in main dining room was good however. The evening show was Jack Pack a swing group who came fourth in Britain Got Talent in 2014. Very very good, would suggest getting there early to get a good seat. As usual disadvantage of being given early dining is the fact that you can’t join in the Captains celebration drinks and speech.

Clocks go forward by one hour tonight onboard ship. Casino is very quiet on this sailing. Cruise compass for day three below. 24c95558cd87e513a1457f46006ec98b.jpg4cb227190773c1a147b86a564fc73097.jpgf944f9bedfc93c8882bec40b0d7e25cd.jpgcf5c1753018f026043d45c538ce38f18.jpg

Tonight we had a photo session in the portrait place on deck 3, the photographer is really good and took her time, will let you know the results when we see them tomorrow.

These are different from the ones around the ship.

The ice show has timed performances according to your muster station, it is amazing so make sure you take the time to go to it, or even have a go on the ice yourself. Might even brave it myself tomorrow but been a bit swaying onboard today to have a go.

Feel free to ask questions and I will do my best to answer them, off to bed now as a day in Oslo awaits tomorrow.

Would love to know more about this, please! In what way are they different to the ones around the ship? Did you pre-book or just turn up?

Thanks for your live review :)

The pictures of menus are great, keep them coming! Can you post some bar menus if you have time? I notice that the cocktail/drink of the day did not have a price on the compass. Do you know if on Navigator whether the pre loaded diamond drinks during cocktail hour can be used in the dining room, it appears to vary from ship to ship.

Thanks, enjoy!

Thanks for getting back to me on the WiFi and Internet, my kids will be pleased to hear it's pretty good.

As I've never sailed RC out of the UK before, I have a couple of questions that might be a bit mundane but would be really good to know..

  • What Teabags do they stock in Windjammer etc? Is it still Liptons, or do they source more common British brands?
  • I have never enjoyed the Breakfast sausages as they always have a frankfurter-like taste when sailing out of the Med Ports, are the sausages on board the same, or more like a real English Banger?

Looking forward to hearing about Oslo too, it's a port we are calling at on our trip in August

Jary8, Thank you SO very much!! I’m also going on the same cruise next week, June 15th.

If it’s not too much trouble, do you mind sharing the Cruise Compass Day 2? I think I only see the Day 1 & 3.

Also, I would be interested to know your excursion experience in each port as I haven’t planned much other than the one in SPB.

My current plan will be mostly taking the HOHO (hop on hop off) bus.

Thanks again!!

It is a 15-30 minute portrait sitting, you are away from public eye and approximately 80 shots are taken in a variety of poses. I have yet to see the results, but will post about the results when I have seen them. You have to book these separately and in advance and then book to go back and see them.

Well guys the photo session the photos are lovely, but the prices are enough to make your eyes water. [emoji97][emoji97] from $700 to $2700 for an album with 20 pictures in. Gentle presumptive sales when you get down to the ones you like.

Oslo the sun was shining, my top tips for this destination.

1) if you have someone with a disability the boat across to the gram museum is more difficult than I first thought, the first stop is straight up hill to the Viking museum. A hard slog with a wheelchair being pushed, even after eating my spinach.

2) The Viking museum takes less time to get round, so start here, if you are going to look at the boats. Then take the number 30 bus down to the gram and Kim tiki museum.

In my opinion these are the better two museums and need longer to get round.

3) You can also get a 24 hour Oslo pass, which gets you in the boat and into all three of these museums plus quite a few more, although you are quite tight for time.

4) The folk museum is ace, but you will spend longer here.

5) If you want to see more if the area then take the City sightseeing tour, tickets can be bought online beforehand and printed off and handed in when getting in the bus.

6) The cost of a coffee averages £3.50 is actually not any different to going into a Starbucks or costa in the UK [emoji636].

My main too tip, get up early to get to windjammers to get a rear view of the stunning scenery on the way into Oslo and on the sail away, get to deck five to the helipad area to see it on the way back, the flotilla of small boats is really lovely to see as they part accompany you out of the port. 26e74fb7931282928a4878684a0aa662.jpg3cb38e7381a6adb6ba7add256bdf244e.jpg

 Good grief! We might not be doing that after all then...! I assume there's no option of buying the odd individual photo, like you would with formal night pics? I imagine they'd get far more business if that's how it worked!

Tea bags in windjammers are reflect and instant coffee is Nescafé.

More like an English Banger.

Not as far as I can tell, the photos are lovely but a ridiculous cost, when you think that you could do another cruise for the cost of one style of aluminium picture high glass.

Not sure about the pre- loaded question but leave it with me and I will find out

Here are the drink prices for Irish ☘️ pub and Vintages the wine bar. I will post the schooner price list on the next post as I can only post 6 pictures on here at a time.

Got off the Navigator on Sunday having been on it for the first time in 10 years. Was in incredibly good condition and except for some decor being a little old its still a very impressive ship. We stayed at the back in an aft cabin for the first time and loved it far less breezy than we remember being at the sides.

Food in the windjammer was excellent very impressed but its as manic as ever. MTD the food was only OK most nights, I had a steak a couple of times and one it was silly overdone for medium rare and the next time it was cooked well but tasteless, no idea how it could be so bad. It was like it had been cooked in water and just seared.

Show times now for the ice shows were at sea for us (2 and 4pm) and you didn't need to book it was matched to your muster station. Ice skating on your own was only 6-8pm in the evening so we had to move dinner so we could take the kids.

Shows were good, none excellent on Navigator I remember them being better in the past. We wondered if they put better shows and cast on bigger ships now?!? Cruise director wasn't that great either.

We also did the Bottomless brunch and kitchen tour which wasn't bad but not sure it was worth the full amount, we got a discount however.

Overall we had a fantastic time and enjoyed it so much we booked another RCL cruise for next year, the kids loved it to bits.

The video below was taken as Navigator was coming into Oslo last week when we were on (I was asleep at the time:D), the temperature was 31 when we were there it was amazingly warm and a fantastic city to visit, we will be back again.
